How to use CSV tools

Published: July 31, 2023

As a registrar that understands domain owners, we have developed multiple tools to manage domain portfolios effortlessly. With Epik’s dashboard, you’re able to easily edit any domain settings, price and descriptions leveraging .CSV spreadsheets.

In order for the system to work when doing changes via spreadsheets, the following conditions must be met:

  • The domains must be added to your Epik portfolio.
  • The domains must be added to the Epik Marketplace.

Once your portfolio is in both places, you’re able to fully manage your domain settings through the CSV tools.

When to use Spreadsheet bulk tools

We offer the ability to leverage spreadsheets in three situations:

1. When adding External Domains to your portfolio.

2. Exporting General Domain Portfolio Data in Bulk (Exp. Date, WHOIS, Lock Status, etc) – CSV Export Tool

3. Managing or Editing Domain Sales Settings & Options – CSV Export Tool + CSV Import Tool

Export Domain Data in Bulk – CSV Export

1. Log in to your Epik Account and navigate to your Dashboard.

2. Below the portfolio list, locate and click CSV Export.

3. You can export each option selectively, or all/none of them to a spreadsheet. Select the desired settings and click Export Domain List to complete the download.

Note: In order to edit marketplace settings, export the fields that have Importable checkmark.

Edit Domain Sales Options in Bulk – CSV Import

1. Log in to your Epik Account and navigate to your Dashboard.

2. Below the portfolio list, locate and click CSV Import.

3. In the CSV Import window, import the .CSV file from CSV Export with the updated Importable fields.

Selective Editing

Furthermore, you can also edit selectively by domain or column. Our system is smart, so you don’t need to always import the whole spreadsheet or columns.

As long as the column names are properly defined as the CSV Import model in the first row, the system will recognize the parameters and change them selectively based on what you import.

After importing the spreadsheet, you’ll be transported to the status page, where you’ll be able to see not only the ongoing progress of the upload but also a detailed breakdown of the successes and failures that happened during the process.
