DNS (or Domain Name System) is a naming system for computers that essentially maps IP Addresses (like 193.243.189.45) to Domain Names (like epik.com), making it so much easier for us human beings to remember websites and ultimately interact with the Internet.
This system may seem simple at the surface, but it’s at the core of how the Internet functions as a whole, allowing people from all over the world to not only access content and information but also take advantage of that same system to link their own domains to various services, developing websites and expanding the web.
It’s one of the corner pieces of the digital infrastructure, and an important part of what makes the Internet truly global.
